The 1920s cloche style of hat resembled a helmet with a brim adorned with appliqué, art deco designs and other embellishments. Cloches were made primarily from felt, as it is moldable fabric, but straw cloches were also popular. Women wore cloches pulled down over the forehead, almost completely covering their eyes.
